Beginning Gently: A Slow Start to the Year at Tutti Frutti

January often arrives with a sense of urgency.

Plans, goals, fresh starts - and a quiet pressure to move quickly.

This year, I’m choosing something different.

Instead of rushing into the year, I’m starting gently. Slowing the pace, paying attention, and allowing things to unfold more naturally. This feels especially important when you’re trying to live - and work - more intentionally.

Gentle is the word I’m holding as this year begins.

Not as a resolution, but as a way of checking in. A reminder to soften my grip and resist the pressure to rush - in business, in family life, and in the way I approach making and selling children’s clothes.

At Tutti Frutti, this slower start reflects something I’ve been thinking about for a long time: slow fashion for children isn’t just about how clothes are made. It’s about pace. About choosing not to push for constant newness, and allowing space for care, thought, and rest.

There’s work happening here - just quietly.
Rearranging. Preparing. Making room.

Some things are being gently shaped.
Some things are resting.
Some things aren’t ready to be shared yet.

And that feels right.

If you’re also finding that January hasn’t arrived with motivation or clarity, you’re not behind. You might just still be in winter - and that’s allowed.

This year, I’ll be writing here as things unfold. Not with all the answers, but with intention. About slowing down, about thoughtful children’s clothing, and about building something that feels honest and sustainable - in every sense of the word.

If that sounds like a pace you’re craving too, you’re very welcome to journey alongside me.

Love,

Ali
